Arcus – Violin

Arcus M3

The M3 is the most economical of the Arcus bows. The ferrule is nickel, rather than steel; the screw is steel, rather than titanium; the winding is simple, stainless steel; and, there is no eye.

Arcus M4

The M series bows are slightly heavier than the S series bows, though still very lightweight by normal standards, and produce a more focused tone with a longer sustain. The additional mass makes them slightly less agile, but steadier on the string and easier to control. The M4 has a mother of pearl eye, sterling silver ferrule, and a black and silver winding. The M4 also has a faster response than the M3 and a more complex tone color.

Arcus M5

The M series bows are slightly heavier than the S series bows, though still very lightweight by normal standards, and produce a more focused tone with a longer sustain. The additional mass makes them slightly less agile, but steadier on the string and easier to control. The M5 has a sterling silver winding and a more refined response than the M4, with a more complex tone color.

Arcus M6

The M series bows are slightly heavier than the S series bows, though still very lightweight by normal standards, and produce a more focused tone with a longer sustain. The additional mass makes them slightly less agile, but steadier on the string and easier to control. The M6 has a black and silver winding and a more refined response than the M5, with a more complex tone color.

Arcus P4

The P series combines the greater mass of the M series with the stiffness and power of the S series. Their weight prevents them from being quite as agile as the S bows, but allows for greater stability on the string. The P4 has a mother of pearl eye and slide, steel screw, and black and silver winding.
